General Plant Notes: A very versatile aquatic plant, Java moss can adapt to a variety of needs in the home aquarium. As a foreground plant or as floating cover for fry . . . this undemanding plant can fill any number of aquatic needs. Normally attached to either rocks or pieces of wood, it can also be allowed to find a place to attach of its own accord as well. A very undemanding plant, excellent for beginners and or fry tanks. Java Moss does fine on low light, can work as a cold water plant as well, standing a water temperature spread of 64 to 84 degrees F. Propagation is by shoot division and its growth rate is medium to fast, enhanced via the additions of liquid fertilizers. It may be trimmed to keep the desired shape and or in control. An excellent and fun plant to start out with, everyone should try this.
