General Plant Notes: Anubias barteri var. nana 'Petite' is very small plant that is great for using in small tanks to help give the appearance the tank is larger. It is adaptable to many home aquarium conditions. As the smallest of the Anubias, it is an ideal plant for your foreground. The root or more properly, the rhizome must not be placed into the substrate. Attach it instead to a piece of wood, rock or other such attachment points. The rhizome must be above the substrate surface or it will degrade and the plant will suffer or die from it. The leaves are a dark green and physically robust, it will handle all types of lighting. This plant grows slowly with leaf sizes reaching a maximum of less than 0.5 inches. Propagation is from side shoots and or by dividing the rhizome, prefers a temperature of 72 to 82 degrees F.
